You can then link ipad displays via Macbooks through a media projector (forget the program...or is it airplay? Havent done it for a while) and everyone in the class can see it. It makes an ipad into a mobile display device (text, pictures, specimens, demos) come simple low power microscope or flexicam (via a microscope lens).

Good afternoon all.

This may be a new idea for some of you.

One of my year 11 students tried out putting the eyepiece of the hand spectroscope up to the camera on the ipad and was able to very successfully record both the colours of flame tests and also the spectra from a few emission tubes. Much better than just looking - you can never be sure exactly what they saw through the spectroscope, and this way we can play it back, noting the spectral lines and gaps between them and even zoom in for a better look!
