Hi All,
The following from Brad Norman may be of interest:

ECOCEAN are offering schools the chance to be part of an innovative STEM teaching and learning experience involving real-world scientific research – the satellite tracking of Western Australia’s official marine emblem, the whale shark!

It’s called the ECOCEAN Whale Shark Race Around the World and is fully endorsed by the WA Department of Education and run by ECOCEAN, Australia’s premier not-for-profit whale shark research and conservation organisation.

The Race begins during National Science Week and has links to many WA curriculum areas, allowing the promotion of STEM educational priorities in your school.

For more information see http://www.whaleshark.org.au/satellite-tracking/ and the attached document, which also includes an ‘Expressions of Interest’ form to complete if you would like to secure one of the limited places available in this exciting initiative.

We look forward to bringing real-world research to STAWA classrooms!

With kind regards

Brad Norman
