[Catalist] 1 day incursion to Murdoch University

Good evening/morning oh great teachers of renown


Every year since 2012, the Chemical and Metallurgical Engineering 
section from the School of Engineering and Technology at Murdoch 
University have run a series of five x 1 day incursions (affectionately 
known as BAMFAD) onto Murdoch South Street Campus, during the month of 
June. Due to the number of students dropping from schools already booked 
in, and schools having to drop out, there has arisen some vacancies.

The incursion is aimed at a level suitable for academic Year 10 students 
and Year 11 and 12 physical science (physics, chemistry and similar) 
students.

The day begins with a half hour introductory talk from one of our 
academics, followed by four, hands on, activities in the areas of: 
Metallurgical Chemistry, Mineral Processing, Hydro/Pyrometallurgy and 
Mathematics in Mining. Each activity lasts for about 50 minutes. The day 
runs from 9.15 am until about 2.30 pm. A light morning tea is provided, 
but students have to either bring their lunch or buy on campus. Schools 
have to provide one staff member (the second can be a lab tech) for 
every 20 students, or part thereof.

Monday June 26: we have vacancies for 30 students.

Thursday June 28: we have vacancies for 25 students
