Hi everyone

ASELL is hosting a full day workshop at Balga Senior High School next term on Friday October 27th. This is an opportunity for you to participate in experiments demonstrated by Curtin University presenters throughout the day, and discuss and evaluate them by completing questionnaires and surveys. It is a great chance to network with other Science teachers, and to work closely with the students participating on the day. The workshop is aimed at teachers of Years 7 - 10, but we also invite Year 6 teachers to attend.

The objective of the ASELL Schools Inquiry Slider workshop is to engage teachers in reflecting on:

(a) the importance of investigations in building students capabilities and understanding.
(b) tools (slider and examples) which can support teaching science via inquiry.
*     Teachers and students will discuss and give feedback the investigations.
*     Teachers reflect on and modify the investigations for use in their classes.
*     Teachers will be introduced to the Science Inquiry Slider that can assist with the development of more meaningful investigations and assessments.
Morning tea and lunch are provided. ASELL will pay for relief teachers, up to $350 per teacher, if this is required.
Please arrive at 8:30 for registrations - workshop will start at 8:45. The day will end at approximately 3.30pm.
