A first for WA, John Curtin College of the Arts have partnered with Life Journey to offer a Professional Learning opportunity for teachers and career advisors on one of the fastest growing STEM careers in the world - Cybersecurity. This event will provide information to teachers on the resources that are available for schools, educational pathways after secondary school and perspectives of local professionals working in the field.



We are all vulnerable to cyber-attacks, and the CSIRO estimates the cost of cybercrime in Australia is as high as $2 billion annually. Defence estimates that in 2012, 5.4 million Australians were victims of cyber crime.



As well as curriculum links to Digital Technologies, Cyber Education is an important part of the General ICT capabilities of the West Australian Curriculum. With cryptography and problem solving elements, cyber also provides enrichment opportunities within the mathematics classroom.
