Dear Science Educators,

I am writing to inform that in August next term there are two exciting
events at hand. It would be a wonderful opportunity for students, teachers
and parents to experience some interesting stuff like astronomy, science
and most importantly know “how to make gold.”

The good news is both the events are *free* for the public.

I have described them below.

*1-kilometer scale model of solar system launch* – *Friday 1st August* and
then open permanently to the public

UWA engineering student Wenjing Zheng has built a solar system installing a
four gas giant planets, a new Sun, 50 moons and asteroids as well the four
enormous sculptural planets Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune. The model
spans a kilometer which the public can visit at any stage after its launch
to take a self-guided tour, with a view to arranging school tours from the
staff at the Discovery Centre. The launch of the outside facility is on
Wednesday 1 August at 12 pm and will also preview the Gold event.

If you are interested to attend this launch event, please let me know. I
will send you the formal invitation letter with all the details in it.

*How to make Gold event* *-18th and 19th August (Weekend)*

In August 2017 scientists at the Gingin Gravity Precinct were part of an
outstanding discovery. They saw and heard gold being created in the
universe. To celebrate the anniversary of this stunning discovery UWA with
National Science Week (11-18 August) and the Gravity Discovery Centre are
putting on a weekend of talks, demonstrations, and tours of telescopes,
lasers, and the gravity wave research facility.

*How to make Gold* is a short choreographed performance that culminates in
the creation of gold, including gravitational sounds and gold for the
taking! To demonstrate this, there will be balloons symbolizing neutron
stars with gold lollies inside the balloons symbolizing gold that are then
burst, showing the atomic impact that releases gold.

Please let me know if you are interested to attend this event.

Kind regards,

Jyoti
