[Catalist] Modelling P Waves

Hi there, 
Has anyone got any fabulous ways to model P and S Waves through a particular medium. I normally use the slinky but was trying to come up with an activity that shows the wave passing through a solid. I thought maybe the magic sand or Oobleck, would love any creative suggestions.
