[Catalist] Belief in Creationist Pseudoscience in Australia

Greetings CATALIST subscribers, especially Distinguished Professor Igor Bray,

Thanks Igor for asking the Australian Academy of Science to revise their original position statement on the teaching of the pseudoscience of Creationism and Intelligent Design in Australian schools.

The last clause (sentence) in the original position statement of the Australian Academy of Science condoned the teaching of the pseudoscience of Creationism and Intelligent Design in Australian schools.

No reputable and creditable organisation of professional scientists anywhere in the world should be in the ‘business' of condoning the teaching of any sort of pseudoscience (i.e., anti-science) in schools.

The Australian Academy of Science is to be congratulated on their new, thoughtful and coherent position statement on the teaching of the pseudoscience of Creationism and Intelligent Design in schools.
