[Catalist] Teachers PD workshops: Time, gravity and curved space

Dear Teachers,

The Einstein-First project is offering special workshops for high school
teachers on teaching time, gravity and curved space. The workshops will be
led by visiting international experts. The details are given below.

*Topics:*

*Time and Gravity*: Magdalena Kersting from the University of Oslo, Norway.
Teachers will be introduced to new online resources on teaching time and
gravity.


*Curved Space*: Ute Kraus and Corvin Zahn from University of Hildesheim,
Germany.
Teachers will be introduced to kits called sector models that allow a deep
understanding of curved space.

*Proposed dates* (Thursday): 8th and 15th November 2018 at 4.30 - 6 pm

*Alternative dates* (Friday): 9th and 16th November 2018 at 4.30 - 6 pm

The Friday session will only be held if there is sufficient demand.

*Venue*: Physics building, The University of Western Australia


*Registration fees*: $100 for the entire workshop
