The School Curriculum and Standards Authority is holding Improving Student Performance workshops for Senior Secondary courses late in Term 1 and during Term 2 and 3.

Human Biology, Biology and Integrated Science
This workshop is designed for teachers delivering Year 11 or Year 12 Human Biology, Biology and Integrated Science courses.
This workshop will focus on developing assessment tasks that provide the opportunity to demonstrate the full range of achievement and align with the assessment types described in the syllabus. A number of strategies to authenticate student work will also be examined. Participants are asked to bring a copy of their extended response tasks and marking keys, and a copy of the current syllabus.

Note: Region seminars for Human Biology, Biology and Integrated Science will take place in Term 3 in Geraldton and Albany to coincide with Year 12 ATART Human Biology Consensus Moderation. These will be advertised during Term 2.
Chemistry and Physics
For teachers delivering Year 11 or Year 12 ATAR Chemistry or Physics courses
This workshop focuses on developing assessment tasks which provide discrimination of student achievement. Chemistry participants are to bring 4 copies of an Extended response task and marking key. Physics participants are to bring 4 copies of a Test and marking key to workshop with colleagues.
