[Catalist] WISE Women and Girls Sum It Up - November 2020

Good morning teachers!

The Murdoch University Outreach team is pleased to announce both the WISE Women Metropolitan Showcase and Girls Sum It Up (previously Girls Enjoy Mathematics) events will be delivered in November 2020! These events are part of the Women in STEM program that encourage girls to explore STEM through hands-on workshops and connection with inspiring female role models. Note that planning for these events take into account current COVID-19 restrictions to ensure the safety of all participants.

WISE Women Metropolitan Showcase - Thursday 5th November (9.30am-2.30pm)
Female students in Years 8-10 are invited to attend in the 2020 Metropolitan Showcase at the Perth campus. Students will hear from an inspiring female STEM professional, undertake two hands-on workshops in STEM fields and participate in a Q&A panel. Lunch is provided to all attendees.

Girls Sum It Up Day - Thursday 26th November (9.30am-2.30pm)
Female students in Years 9 and 10 are invited to attend the mathematics focused Girls Sum It Up Day at the Perth campus. Students will attend a keynote lecture by female mathematician, undertake two hands-on mathematics workshops which demonstrate the variety of fields requiring mathematics knowledge, and then participate in a Q&A panel with a diverse range of females whose jobs rely on maths! Lunch is provided to all attendees.
