Hi All,
Don’t forget to register for Future Science - Thursday 3 December at Murdoch University.
View the program and register @ https://cvent.me/lVq0og

We have a great program of 50 presentations and workshops covering almost all areas of science. There is something for everyone. We have a lot of hands on workshops so get in early to avoid disappointment.

Steve Wilton is delivering the keynote address:
Pioneering Research from the Centre for Molecular Medicine & Innovative Therapeutics
We have pioneered the development of the first two FDA approved treatments to restore dystrophin expression in the most common and serious form of childhood muscle wasting (Duchenne muscular dystrophy), by re-directing gene expression to “skip over” the disease-causing mutations. Having shown that the natural course of Duchenne disease progression can be altered in individuals treated with these genetic drugs, there is now great impetus to extend this therapeutic platform to other conditions, both inherited (rare genetic diseases) and the much more common acquired diseases. Of particular current relevance is the collaborative research with colleagues in Monash University to “dampen the cytokine storm” associated with severe COVID19 infections, as well as novel strategies to increase resistance to viral infection…. Exciting and interesting times indeed for molecular medicine!

Regards,
John
