[Catalist] ICRAR Astronomy course for teachers - less than one month left to enrol!

Hello all,

With less than one month left to enrol, there are still availabilities for ICRAR’s new micro-credential - Features of the Universe, aimed at upskilling and equipping teachers delivering Astronomy in the curriculum.

The unit will cover:

  *   Predictable phenomena on Earth, including seasons and eclipses, are caused by the relative positions of the Sun, Earth and the Moon.
  *   The Universe contains features including galaxies, stars and solar systems, and the Big Bang Theory can be used to explain the origin of the Universe
  *   Identifying and remedying common astronomy misconceptions
  *   Use of remote SPIRIT telescopes as a tool for delivery in the classroom

Completion of this micro-credential will give 50 hours of professional development and 2 credit points at the University of Western Australia.


The unit will run from the 4th of September for 9 weeks, with all sessions presented online and recorded for ease of access. The times and days of the sessions will be determined based on availabilities of those enrolled in the course, and we do not intend to run these during school hours.

Applications close on the 28th of August.
