[Catalist] ScienceIQ Expressions of Interest + Science Related Events happening in Terms 2 and 3

SCIENCEIQ 2024 – Expressions of Interest are now OPEN!
The Science Teachers' Association of Western Australia (STAWA) invites primary and secondary students to participate in the ScienceIQ competition.
ScienceIQ is an online science quiz for school teams of four (4) students from Years 5 to 9.
Separate Competitions were run each term:
Term 2: Years 5 and 7
Round 1 starts week of Monday, 20 May 2024
Round 2 starts week of Monday, 27 May 2024
Term 3: Years 6 and 9
Round 1 starts week of Monday, 12 August 2024
Round 2 starts week of Monday, 19 August 2024
Term 4: Years 8 and joint Year 5 & 6 competition
Round 1 starts week of Monday, 4 November 2024
Round 2 starts week of Monday, 11 November 2024
Each quiz had two rounds of questions, held a week apart. Teams had one hour to complete each round of 12 science problems. The ScienceIQ quizzes tested student knowledge, skills and understandings in most areas of Science, including science inquiry skills. Students finishing in the shortest time with the most questions correct earned the bragging rights for that competition. Prizes for first, second and third place in each year group.
