Thanks Rod,

I was using it last night I a workshop with teachers and academics here in Guayaquil, Ecuador where we are looking at personalisation and mobile learning.

I have used it with success in the past as the basis of a workshop series called "Using your iPad to Transform your Teaching" at Curtin.

Like many tools of this type it's the pedagogical knowledge of the teacher that really makes the difference. I received the copy of the report you sent through and in the past few days you've really shown what it can achieve.

I hope to reprise my Mobile Learning workshop via the TeachMeetWA PLN sometime after I get home.

Cheers

Kim

The lessons are primarily designed for K-12, so there’s not a lot of suitable content for higher education but you can create your own presentations.

This is highly beneficial for quiet groups that may have something to contribute but often remain silent. Quizzes can be created to immediately analyse student comprehension and to gain feedback, and results can be shared with the class in an anonymous way. The classic use of Nearpod is to break up content dissemination from lectures or presentations by combining presentations slides and engagement slides. You can insert polls, quizzes, open-ended questions or even interactive drawings. This can be done in large lecture theaters, or smaller class environments. It’s best to begin in a tutorial environment before attempting a large lecture scenario.
