Hi,

  * Do you wish to brush up on your physics teaching?
  * Could you use some new teaching resources?
  * Would you like some insight into teaching mechanics and relativity?
  * Are you curious about how educational theory has developed since you left university / teachers college?
  * Do you think there is a need for a network that links high school and university physics teachers so they can discuss their work, their understanding of concepts, the resources and the teaching methods that they use?

If you answer "yes" to any of the above questions then we would like to invite you to a day of professional development on Wednesday the 27th January 2016 at Murdoch University.
The day is being sponsored by several groups interested in maintaining the high standard of physics teaching in WA. It will feature, on-line resources for teaching mechanics, created and presented by Dr. Christine Creagh (Australian OLT National Teaching Fellow) as well as the hands-on relativity teaching resources created by Prof. David Blair, Dr Warren Stannard and their team, and presented by Prof. Mario Zadnik. There will also be a review of the directions that education theory has taken since the advent of the on-line environment by Associate Prof. Rob Phillips. You will gain access to a new on-line discussion forum for people interested in teaching physics which is linked to all of the resources discussed during the day and more.
The forum is being supported by an OLT Fellowship and the Australian Institute of Physics. Add to this lunch and morning and afternoon tea and we hope you will find something that will repay in full the time you spend with us.
The day is free but please book your seat by contacting Emma Tristham <E.Tristham at murdoch.edu.au<mailto:E.Tristham at murdoch.edu.au>> who will send you information about time, place and parking closer to the day. At the end of the day you will receive a certificate confirming your participation in this day of professional development in physics education.

Regards
Chris
