Hi,
I just wanted to let teachers know if they hadn't heard already of the wonderful programs run at CREEC, the Canning River Eco Education Centre (http://www.canning.wa.gov.au/creec/).

I took my year 11 and year 12 general Integrated Science students there this week and they had a wonderful time.  We did the "Testing, testing, H2O" guided tour and the students were able to test the water quality in two different ecosystems using a wide variety of equipment.  The cost per student was only $7.  This perfectly suited the recommended first assessment task for year 12 general Integrated Science.

Our guide was wonderful, really pushing the students to get involved and get the most out of their time there.

I had one student tell me afterwards that this excursion was better than all of the ones he had been on last year.

They have a number of programs to suit all ages so if you want to involve your students in some environmental science then this is a great place to check out.
