Supply of Secondary Specialist Physics and Mathematics Teachers

Greetings CATALIST and ASTARIX 2.0 Subscribers,

Are secondary specialist physical sciences and mathematics teachers ‘going to extinction’ in Australia owing to their retirement, resignation from teaching, or not choosing to teach upon graduation with a S-T-E-M degree from a University?

The Australian Federal government does not know because each State government is responsible for collecting, analysing and reporting on their relevant State data.

Also, current information on the supply of specialist physical sciences and mathematics teachers is not available for download from the Internet, as the available Reports have of necessity, reported on analysis of historical State data.

With Semester 1, 2018 coming to a close, specialist teachers could perhaps consider their ever-increasing occupational workloads? To prepare for Term 3, how many hours of necessary school-related work will you do during your Term 2 school holidays?
