[Catalist] WA Maritime Museum - French Explorers in WA - Teachers Preview

Hi All

The WA Maritime Museum is soon to host the French Explorers in WA exhibition that celebrate two French expeditions of scientific discovery to Australia from 200 years ago.



Students will view illustrations of Australian marine life as well as striking portraits, rare documents, and hand-drawn maps created by the French crew of Géographe and Naturaliste from 1800-1804. Plus they will discover the science and stories behind the 1818 Louis de Freycinet's expedition on board the Uranie. This exhibition is currently free for education groups. Places are still available for a free teacher preview on Tuesday 18 September from 4.30pm. The preview includes an opportunity to have a chat with one of the Museum's wonderful Maritime Archaeology curators, Michael (Mack) McCarthy. To register for the preview visit:
