Greetings all !

On July the 11th, The Royal Society of WA will hold its annual
symposium, this year on pollution in WA. The venue is at Murdoch
University, the cost is free to members, and membership for a year is
$50. Details of the program will be announced soon. Tickets will be
available from

Royal Society symposia take a very multidisciplinary, broad ranging
overview of "natural history" subjects, and are thus very interesting to
attend. This conference represents good value, contemporary knowledge,
and focuses on science in Western Australia. While RSWA don't issue PD
certificates, as they are a scientific organisation not focused on
teachers, this would be a good 7.5 hours to go on your PD log.

RSWA wants to engage with secondary educators, and promote WA science to
the next generation of scientists in school. STAWA seeks to support WA
teachers, and their students in their study of science in WA. There is
some considerable overlap between the two organisations. While CONSTAWA
(13th of July) is the best teacher-focused conference, this symposium is
also worth a look too. Go to both ! It may also help some new or relief
teachers build up their pd hours for TRB registration requirements in an
economical way.

When the program becomes available, I'll post it here too.

Cheers,

Leon
