Planning for Sustainability
Have you always wanted to get more sustainability into your programs? Then this is the Professional Leaning for you. Listen to presenters from Department of Parks and Wildlife (DPaW) Nearer to Nature Program, the Water Corporation, Department of Fisheries education programs and Marine WATERs and the Mindarie Regional Council as they provide information on the resources they have available to support the Western Australian Curriculum. This is an opportunity to be guided through sample lessons that incorporate engaging real life activities and to explore how these can be incorporated into a teaching and learning programs. Information relating to related incursions and excursions will also be provided.

For participants that are interested, Howard Flinders has kindly offered to conduct a tour that highlights how sustainability is implemented at the State wide Services site and how these can be transferred back to your school. If you are interested in this additional component please be on site by 12.15pm.

As a result of attending this professional learning event, attendees will:
*A greater understanding of how to incorporate sustainability across learning area into programs.
* A collection of pre-made lesson plans with worksheets linked to the Western Australian curriculum
*A list of organisations that provide incursion and excursions to support the cross curriculum priority of sustainability.
